Fashion Design and Society
One of the issues in the fashion industry is sustainability, including the industry's social and environmental impact of the industry. Sustainable fashion is partly driven by customers concerned about throwaway culture and fast fashion. Leaders need to promote using more sustainable materials, recycling, and efficiency. Ensuring fashion is more sustainable would require applying the zero waste philosophy, including sustainable fabrics and reducing wastage. Sustainability should be in the whole process, from raw materials extraction, waste management, manufacturing and distribution processes of clothing, and the supply chain process.
The program will help me positively influence the fashion design industry and will be better placed to promote sustainability and engage various stakeholders.
