My Reflection

Since the breakaway and activity was so much fun, it was a tough challenge to come up with a different activity because April and I were not teachers. We tried our best and gave the idea of the game activity and video. I have learned countless lessons throughout this course from breakaways and videos. I learned how to use the breakaways and videos that help the learners to be motivated to learn sign language. I can describe the game and what to do with the activity and video. Good examples of these games include ASL Poem, Draw a Picture and Story Time. I was proud of the student who could understand and learn more things by participating in these games. I remembered that last semester I took ASL linguistics, and we threw a lot of videos. I collected the videos which were very important to use for students in the future. I collected and saved some games and videos in my file to motivate students to improve their sign language.

I learned about Ian Sanborn when I was lectured and explained that Sanborn used Visual Vernacular (VV) to describe what he talked about. I mentioned that Sanborn has VV and has no ASL at all. My teacher, John Pireno, told me that Sanborn has ASL poems and some ASL grammar structures. I learned something new to me. I keep in mind that Sanborn is an ASL poem and some

VV. I am still learning something new to help me understand better. I received positive feedback from my students who genuinely want to participate and are motivated to learn sign language. It would be fun for them.

My challenge to struggle with the story is most difficult for me because I have never experience to use the deaf story. My classmate April and Katie explained the story activity. I understand and want to learn about the story. I want to practice and will be looking for more deaf stories that I can save the file in the future when I become a teacher someday because it is essential to use the asl story so that students can understand and use their narrative at their level.

Breakaways and Videos Reflection

I have learned numerous lessons throughout this course, especially from breakaways and videos. In particular, the most significant things that stand out for me are the game activities that help learners to be motivated to learn sign language. Good examples of these games include ASL Jeopardy and Kahoot. I was excited to know that students can learn more things by participating in these games. On that note, I collected and saved some games in my file, which I will use in the future to motivate learners to improve their sign language.

In particular, learning about the existence of ASL Jeopardy and Kahoot mattered to me. These games stand out since they are just not ordinary games, but participating in them enables students to acquire crucial lessons about American Sign Language (ASL). The games are important to me personally since they make work easier for educators and learners. In most cases, students are willing to play games instead of learning formally. However, the best thing about the games discussed here is that they facilitate knowledge acquisition about sign language. In other words, the bigger picture is for the learners to get crucial concepts while playing and enjoying these games.

Furthermore, from here on, I will ensure to find and use games to achieve various learning objectives. I have learned that games can significantly contribute to learning sign language. They make students excited and motivated to acquire new concepts. Specifically, the knowledge I have

obtained has changed my perspective and current profession. I have learned that sometimes it is vital to use games in teaching students. Besides, games help learners to obtain important lessons either directly or indirectly. Consequently, I will ensure to use games to enhance learning where necessary.
