Personal Statement
I grew up around computers and electronic gadgets that have always fascinated me. I always harbored a strong urge to take them apart and learn how they worked. My parents noted my curiosity and steered me on the path to quench my insatiable curiosity in this field. I was fortunate to have several of my closest family members who were engineers. I fondly remember my father and me building simple robots and electronics using breadboards and microcontrollers in the garage. As I grew older, I had the privilege of accompanying him to work in one of the biggest tech companies in Silicon Valley. As a result, I got to see first-hand the technologies the tech giants were betting on to change the world in the coming decades.
This environment, coupled with my predilection to STEM subjects, helped me participate and win many electronics and robotics competitions in school. Motivated and challenged by other students’ projects, I also took other courses to build my skills. These competitions, among other accolades, have motivated me to pursue a career in Electronics and Computing technology. I even took other courses like Digital Logic Circuits and Microprocessors and Microcontrollers that gave me an in-depth understanding of electronics and computing devices.
