Pursuing A Graduate Degree On Healthcare Policy
Although there is no need to have a stable ensuing of your future career prior to applying for postgraduate, it helps. This is because grad school acts as an academic version for professional learning; therefore, it enables learners to graduate with the correct knowledge in their learning fields; consequently, they are ready to get directly into their preferred careers. As a result, most students will have invested in their potential careers and not putting off the end of their student life.
For me, joining med school was one of my main aspirations after finishing high school in South Korea. But after the death of my friend, who was a medical student, I lost hope. My fate never stopped me from studying medicine, so I managed to get a sponsor, a doctor, who financed my Nursing exam until I got a Nursing license in South Korea. Additionally, my religion enabled me to visit my brothers and sisters who are in various countries, and also it saw me end up in America, where I got married to my ex-husband. However, religious differences became a great challenge between my husband and me, and therefore, we divorced. This was a sad moment for me, considering that I had left the healthcare field about 25 years ago, and now I am about to rejoin. Unfortunately, I am older than other applicants, but I am optimistic that I will pursue my healthcare career very well.
In life, I have realized that as one grows, new interests start developing, and one realizes that he or she can do things which they never anticipated. Additionally, people around me greatly influenced me in pursuing my graduate degree. My dad, more specifically, had devoted his life to science as if it depended on it. He is working on developing medicine from natural resources. His commitment and thirst for knowledge always move me together with the motivation and positive pressure that I get from people who urge me to pursue my career. Nevertheless, my grandmother had a significant role in motivating me to learn different languages as she used to speak to me in Chinese and Korean during my younger age. This was also aided by the frequent tours my parents and I made in various countries.
Secondly, getting academic recognition is one of the motives behind pursuing a graduate degree. In a grad school, there is a good platform for research and exploration of theories and ideas. During the study, if one conducts any specifically exceptional research, most likely they will be identified for that accomplishment by the academic faction after presenting their paper at a congress or contributing to a research project and that they might be accredited in a piece of work written in a magazine or journal. Additionally, one might gain international recognition and may as well become a prominent expert in their field.
