Congestive Heart Failure is a condition that affects more than 4 million Americans. It is usually occurs when the heart fails to pump blood as it should. CHF can be a hard burden for patients to bear alone. Experts have estimated that nearly $ 30 million is spent by patients in the United States of America annually on treating Cognitive Heart Failure (Shaffer & Maurer, 2015). That being said, there is nothing more important to nurses than ensuring the safety of patients and providing them with quality healthcare. Nurses are eternally dedicated to promoting health, preventing diseases and healing patients. However, due to the recent legislation, healthcare is becoming more than a personal objective. Healthcare organizations, nurses, and other clinical staff have taken significant steps to ensure the value of healthcare is respected in patient safety. This essay purposes to highlight the national Patient Safety Goals and their significance.
