The authors focus on the organizations that have emerged over the years which seek to call for an end to the death penalty since many people often suffer due to wrongful convictions. The sources explore the Innocence Movement and how a large number of people have turned out innocent even though they were on death row. It has also been difficult to stop the death penalty due to a large number of proponents of the policy. The article will be useful in the essay since I will use it to show why the death penalty is not effective and that it should be stopped.

The authors focus on the evolution of the death penalty in the United States while analyzing significant cases where the death sentence was regarded as a constitutional method to deal with offenders. It has been effective in deterring crimes. The source shows that the death penalty is often reserved for criminals who commit capital crimes like murder and other serious crimes. I will use the article to show the current statistics about the death penalty, and also the trends within the justice system in regards to how it is applied.

Bibi et al. (2019) claim that wrongful executions are common, and this is a major reason why the death penalty is not the best option. The article relies on data from Pakistan where there have been cases of human rights issues and injustices since some criminals have been wrongfully convicted. Juvenile offenders have also been executed. I will use the source to show the dangers of wrongful executions. It will also help to slow provide more information about the state of executions worldwide.

The article examines how various movements such as the Black Lives Matter have emerged with calls to demand an abolition of the death penalty. The justice system is committing injustices since it tends to be unfair to black communities, and a large number of Black offenders are often convicted with capital offences. The death penalty is racist. I will use the source to show how the death penalty is not applied fairly, and that blacks tend to suffer.
