Transforming Your Organization Case Summary
1. What practices/interventions in the case would be helpful to apply in your organization?
Most of the practices/interventions discussed in the case would be applicable to in a sports organization that I would like to work for in the future. The field of sports experience changes like others and transformations are necessary to enable good performances in the turbulent environment. The practice of understanding the hierarchy of leadership culture would be relevant in a sports organization that requires orientation of people towards shared objectives. This would help me in matching the culture of the organization to fit the needs of sports people and hence lead to high performances that are not possible where culture conflict the needs of people. Sometimes I may need to slow down to give attention to beliefs and other behaviors that would bring more power to the organization. I would also grow bigger minds in the people working for my organization so as to create capacities and better ways of doing things. Since sports involve many stakeholders and organization I would also embrace interdependence, such as through partnerships.
2. How might you modify the practices or interventions in the case to better suit your organization?
I could modify some of the above interventions so as suit leadership of a sports organization. In matching the cultures to the operational need of a sports organization, I would explore the change in cultures of the people, especially as influenced by other factors such as technology so as to enable selection cultures that would not be problematic in inducing future changes.
