Grayson's reading probe shows that he improved dramatically as he got fifteen words right in the sixth week. Compared with the previous weeks' performance, which started with six, moving to eight and ten, respectively. It indicates that the instructional decisions and teaching methods that Mrs. Booker is using are working. However, looking critically at Grayson's result, we realize that he is improving after two weeks. For instance, he scored six points in his first and second week and then improved in week three to eight points. Similarly, in weeks four and five, he scored ten points and improved in week six, scoring fifteen points (The IRIS Center Peabody College Vanderbilt University Nashville, 2021). Hence, this shows that his reading skills are improving slowly. Mrs. Booker needs to evaluate the instructional decisions and identify why her student is improving at a sluggish rate.
