Your analysis will include relevant background information gathered through the case and additional research, well thought out responses to case questions, and your recommendations for the company. You must use a minimum of 2 outside sources.
Your paper should be professionally formatted and free of errors (punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, capitalization, etc.).

The case of RTZ Corporation presents an issue that affects various organizations in the real world. Companies desire to create work environments that are transparent and focused on development to enhance growth and sustainability. Having acknowledged the changes in the business environment, specifically the changes in customer preferences, technological changes, and a higher number of young employees, RTZ Corporation is looking forward to making changes in the company’s culture, which will enhance its adaptability. To do so, the company has decided to engage their staff in a survey to assess the firm’s managers and highlight their potential strengths and weaknesses. The survey was carried out by Wheeling’s consulting company. During the first year of the survey, the company’s culture and managers showed improvement. However, Cam’s results were bad compared to the previous year. Although the Cam’s team acknowledged some of the improvements from last year’s suggestions, they still gave him neutral scores. Zeitland strongly attributes the scores to Cam’s personality.
Zeitland’s desire for change in culture is related to changes in the external environment. To begin with, corporate success is strongly linked to corporate culture. This means that the system of shared values and norms that define the employee’s appropriate behaviors and attitudes greatly influence the performance of the company (Nacinovic, Galetic and Cvlek 137). External factors can be associated with the company’s external relations, which include stakeholders, and shareholders. Technology, laws and regulations, customer preferences and market practices are also part of the external environment. For employees to cope with the changes in the external environment such as market practices and technology, they require skills and knowledge, and the acquisition of such knowledge is part of the company’s culture. Therefore, the external environment has a significant effect on the corporate culture.
Nonetheless, managers also play an important role in shaping the organization’s culture. This means that they must exercise caution in their decision making, by ensuring that they exercise equitability and fairness (Kane-Urrabazo 189). Managers have a responsibility of ensuring that they empower their employees by putting in place mechanisms and support systems that allow the staff members to flourish. Zeitland’s reluctance to change the company’s culture can, therefore, be linked to the changes in the external environment.
The method of using an employee survey to assess the company’s managers can be beneficial for Zeitland’s company. However, some flaws may easily render the survey useless. One major factor that influences the survey is its design, as a failure in survey design can affect accuracy (Morrel-Samuels). Because of the inaccuracies in the surveys, it would be inappropriate for Wheeling and Zeitland to settle for a plan of action before considering other investigations for assessing the managers.
