Risk Situation in an Organization
Author Name
Institution Affiliation
I work in a clothing factory where workers are always required to expose themselves to hazardous chemicals like alkylphenol, phthalates, and organotin compounds. The most commonly used alkylphenol compounds are nonylphenols (NPs) and octylphenols and their ethoxylates, such as nonylphenol ethoxylates. Phthalates, on the other hand, are a group of chemicals that are used in our factory to soften the plastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Besides the clothing industry, these chemicals are used to manufacture rubber and leather products and in a variety of dyes — the organotin compounds used in this field range from antifungal agents to anti-odor liquids that are used to manufacture sports clothes, handkerchiefs and socks.
Risk Situation in My Field
As already mentioned, workers in the textile industry are asked to play with dangerous chemicals, some of which can cause a burning sensation or instant death. One of the best-known organotin compounds is tributyltin (TBT). It is primarily used in manufacturing antifouling dyes and can burn the skin whenever someone exposes to this compound unwisely or carelessly (2015). This type of risk can be regarded as the environmental risk, and it needs to be avoided on an immediate basis before it is too late and an injury or death occurs. An understanding of when and how to use these chemicals is needed, and for this purpose, people working in the clothing factory should first be informed and guided. Different training sessions can be initiated in this regard, and they should be encouraged to participate in group discussions so that they can learn how to ensure their safety while working with hazardous chemicals in the factory.
The Stakeholders Whom Will First Receive the Message
A product manager or project manager is the very first person who should receive the message in case of an emergency. He should be capable and responsive enough to handle the situation immediately. It is possible only when the stakeholder is qualified, experienced and is aware of how to teach the employees working in the clothing factory precautions or chemical-handling techniques.
The Potential Stakeholder Questions and Concerns
One of the major problems seen in such a situation is that there is an extreme lack of communication (Frohlichstein). The product manager or project manager should take all emplo...
