Recent performance reports have indicated that the organization is unable to meet service demands for radiotherapy and related cancer services. The primary challenge as noted in the reports is the lack of radiation facilities. Through this capital investment plan, a proposal is tabled for a state of the modern art equipment to promote the capacity of the organization. The plan outlines the team of professionals that will be used to execute the plan. To continue providing proper, sufficient and quality services to the community member, the hospital requires to update its capital investment strategy. Performance and service delivery reports have consistently indicated that the hospital does not duly meet the demand for radiation services. In the last six years, the population of patients has drastically increased (Ontario Hospital, 2012). Within the same period, radiation treatment equipment has deteriorated in capability, and no significant investments have been staged to improve the facilities. It is thus essential that a capital investment proposal is developed to outline the severity of the problem and a solution to resolve the issue.
Cancer is a significant health challenge in the United States. Reports indicate that incidences of the disease are growing in the current community. It is postulated that increase in the rate of cancer incidences will perpetuate into the future. Hence, to keep pace with the cancer treatment demand, there is need to realize a 10% increase in treatment capacity at our facilities. Additionally, developments in the new generation have led to more advanced and efficient technologies. It should be in the interest of the management team to ensure that patients receive quality treatment by investing in new cancer treatment facilities. With proper facilities, especially in the cancer treatment center, members of staff will be readily available to take on tasks that dictate higher levels of commitment (Perkins, 2017). By executing this plan, the institution will have worked towards its general objective of minimizing mortality rates in the community.
Establishing the Team
Capital investments are sensitive undertakings as they incur a lot of expenses. Most importantly, such activities are tied to the long term objectives of the organization. Hence, conducting a capital investment dictates that a multidisciplinary team of professionals is engaged in the planning and executing the project.
