It is an accepted method, has been approved by the US Food and Drug administration, and therefore is safe. Moreover, it is convenient and readily available in many health facilities. You will need to wear it for a period of three weeks. When you start menstruating, time arrives, and you will need to remove it for one week in order to allow menstruation to occur- a new ring should then be inserted at the end of this period. How the ring prevents pregnancy is by releasing hormones into the body system.
