Source PurposeDesign/sampleInstruments/MeasuresResultsStrengths/weaknesses Boaz K, Gorman K, Wade R, Miller R, (2012).To assess if mobile App clinics and pharmaceutical services have an impact on treatment adherence for African American patients undergoing treatment for depression, asthma, hypertension, hyperlipidemi and diabetes.The study employed retrogressive analysis in evaluating treatment adherence among black American males that were undergoing treatment in worksite pharmacies in comparison to those who received such treatment from offsite clinics. The study included patients that had received treatment from January 2009 to December 2009 which were also followed through the entire year.
The sample consisted of 2,446 patients.
The adherence to treatment was evaluated by use of a one-year treatment possession ratio. Additionally, a sub- analysis was done for patients that already in management programs.
Among the finding of the study were that the treatment possession ratio was high in patients who had utilized worksite clinics in comparison to those who had utilized offsite pharmacies. This was 54.8% against 50.7%, respectively.Among the strengths of the study was that it has implications with regard to the significance of the clinicians involvement in conditional management programs.
