Affordability and cost-effectiveness is an advantage associated with medical tourism. Low-cost medical procedures especially those involving artificial transplants are forcing Americans to go to countries like India and Belgium among others where the costs are comparatively lower.
High-quality healthcare is another reason that is facilitating medical tourism. The idea of enhancing artificial transplants in nations like Belgium and India is being facilitated courtesy of the high number of trained professionals. According to Rosenthal (2013), these are the ones that are ensuring that they address the quality concerns of patients from high-income economies like the US and Britain. There are no large quality disparities among the nations facilitating these transplants thus enabling the patients to travel abroad. The idea of having immediate service is facilitating medical tourism. Patients are travelling to India where the number of patients who require transplants is comparatively lower to avoid waiting that is witnessed in the US.
