Type 2 diabetes is a weigh-related health condition that results from having high glucose levels in the blood (Thomas, 2013). This condition makes the body to resist the effect of insulin, which regulates glucose levels in the body. Common symptoms include frequent and uncontrollable urination, poor vision, fatigue, and slow healing of wounds/sores (Schulze, et al., 2004). Type 2 diabetes is prevalent in children and adults with obesity, which is why it is commonly understood as a weight-related health condition (Thomas, 2013). Although the condition can be inherited, it is also associated diet and physical exercise lifestyles, which means that it is preventable or manageable.
