Introduction
Palliative is a type of specialized medical care done for people with serious illnesses. It is aimed at improving a patient’s life by providing them with relief from pain, symptoms, and stress from serious illnesses (Twycross, 2003). This form of Medicare is applicable for any age group and is applicable at any stage of the illness. In most cases, this care is provided for patients with chronic, curable, or life-threatening illnesses (Mitchell, 2008). Research has shown that palliative care is capable of helping patients recover from illnesses by relieving them of symptoms such as anxiety, pain, and even loss of appetite while undergoing treatment or surgery, common with cancer patients and children.
