Though type 2 diabetes has been documented to affect almost every age group of the human population, those within the age group 55 and 65 are at the highest risk. Moreover, the use of technology in this age group is not perverse as compared to the younger age groups. Use of technology to manage the disease within this age group comes with some challenges, and this necessitated its choice for the identification of the said challenges.
Introduction of the Glucose Buddy app is a great way to help the type II diabetes patients manage the disease. The app will enable the patients get information on how to manage the disease via daily text messages (Fjeldsoe, Marshall & Miller, 2009). Moreover, the text messages will be a source of reminder about the right time to take the drugs. This will enhance self-management of the disease by the patients.
