The Military Success of Germany in World War II from 1939-1943
There is historical controversy and perception around Nazi Germany's triumph in the early stages of World War II. Nevertheless, there are several explanations for why Germany succeeded militarily in the first few years of the conflict, from 1939 to 1943. First and foremost, the German military had spent significant cash and time being rearmed and modernized throughout the Nazi era. Hence, Germany had a strong, well-equipped, and well-armed force at its discretion. Secondly, Germany used an approach referred to as Blitzkrieg. Germany's inventive application of Blitzkrieg tactics, which prioritized using velocity, unpredictability, and retaliatory attacks by air and land troops, was mainly responsible for their military prowess. This strategy enabled the German forces to swiftly overrun their adversaries and take the upper hand (Berghahn, 2009). Thirdly, military hardware. Germany had significantly invested in creating cutting-edge military apparatus, like tanks and planes, that were superior to their adversaries at the start of the conflict. They had a big advantage in weaponry and mobility because of this.
Fourthly, Strategic planning. Germany had a well-defined approach to conquering Europe, including quick conquest of strategic areas and installing puppet dictators. They could quickly take control of vast portions of Europe. As a result, they maintained their military advantage. Nevertheless, Germany's early victories can also be credited to their rivals' errors and frailties. Mission Barbarossa's assault on the Soviet Union was originally inadequate, and France and Britain were sluggish to respond and needed viable defenses against Germany's tactics.
