Unexpected decrease in the core temperature in a thermoneutral environment increases the risk of complications as the human body is used to maintaining constant body temperature. The proposed organ allows humans to withstand more heat and cold and reduces the risk of suffering body failure and especially when in cold environments. Bears have blubber, which is thick fat as part of adipose tissue below the skin and protects them when in extremely cold environments where they hibernate. At the same time, the changes in body heat temperature are linked to nitric oxide, which helps the nutrients in food become energy or heat (Welchet al., 2014). The genes that control nitric oxide are stronger in polar bears than in the other species (Welchet al., 2014). In human beings there would be a new organ called kalt between the heart and lung, which helps to regulate temperatures in extreme cold.
Bears reduce the metabolism and oxygen consumption during hibernation when there are in extremely cold weather, and humans may get similar adaptations. Among human beings, while the normal heart beat rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute, where below 60 bpm or above 100 bpm causes complications and is mostly linked to the heart condition, such as arrhythmia. Similarly, if it is less than 40 bpm this may indicate a heart condition as the low blood flow to the heart and other vital organs.
