Erikson vs Bandura: How Grade School Children Develop Mastery and Competence

Coursework Instructions:

Mastery and Competence: Erikson and Bandura
Your total response should be at least 150-250 words, include at least one in-text citation, and should answer each one of the following questions.
Erik Erikson (Industry versus Inferiority) and Albert Bandura (Social Learning Theory and Self-Efficacy) describe how grade school children develop mastery and competence.
NUMBER THE QUESTIONS IN YOUR POST. You do NOT have to repeat the actual question, just number your answers to the questions. It will help you to organize your writing.
1. Choose and describe one example (this may be hypothetical or personal) of a child struggling with or demonstrating mastery and competence.
2. Show how Erikson's theory applies to this example.
3. Show how Bandura's concepts apply to this example.
Please use course reading as your main source.
Course reading: Martha Lally and Suzanne Valentine-French (2017). Lifespan Development: A Psychological Perspective.
Your explanations should be complete, clear, concise, and thorough, supported by cited information from a class learning resource, and follow APA style with your in-text citation and reference.
Show evidence of thoroughly reading and listening to the course resources. This is preferable to outside research. But if you provide additional resources, they will be graded on their scholarly credibility; that means sources of questionable truth may result in a lower grade on the post and sources of good credibility may result in a higher grade.
**(Numbering the questions and bolding the concepts helps you to organize your writing and helps me to identify your answers clearly so you get credit for them!)

Success leads to confidence and industry, while failure leads to a sense of inferiority.
Mary’s example is related to Erickson’s theory. She experiences a sense of inferiority since she feels less competent than her classmates who do well in math. The feeling of inferiority drops her self-esteem and may affec...
