Explain why we should focus so much on immigration at the southern border with Mexico instead of the northern border with Canada. The United States (U.S.) border with Mexico remains one of the most protected border areas in the world. The greater focus on the southern border instead of the northern one is that the former is characterized by illegal traffickers leveraging authentic means to cross entry points and others utilizing unwarranted techniques to introduce illegal merchandise for sales and distribution. These issues demonstrate the significance of the southern entry points and call for practical solutions to prevent unlawful traffic from entering the United States. In addition, southern border surveillance has been unsuccessful in reducing illegal immigration from Mexico into the United States.
