THE RACIAL DEMARCATION LINE IS DISAPPEARING

Racism has been a major dividing factor for humans since the onset of globalization when Europeans sailed across the world for exploration and exploitation of other resources. The idea that skin color reflects the intellectual capacity of the individual has endured and continually strained social relations between humans. Thus, for millennia, the concept of superiority between among races has predisposed some communities to oppression and others to privileges. Tough there is compelling evidence that race is not an indicator of superiority, many people have propagated racial hate taken the higher moral ground to judge others because of their skin color. Historically many atrocities were done on communities thought to be inferior such as the transatlantic slave trade which targeted Africans and transporting them thousands of miles from their homes to servitude. Though the racial issues that have blanketed history are despicable, they have shaped the world as we know it today. And though racism is still deeply ingrained in the societal fabric, humanity has made strides that are continually blurring the demarcating lines.
As globalization increased, intermarriage between races increased and new mixed races was brought forth. Though biologically intermarriage is advantageous, many communities in the past wanted to maintain racial purity. Some communities under bad leadership attempted to do ‘ethnic cleansing’ and attempted to flush the ‘impurities’ from their land. Though Hitler’s plan was not entirely successful, it highlighted the dangers of racial myopia that praises and privileges some communities and direct unjustifiable hatred to those indifferent to them. Ironically, many European communities are mixed races owing to centuries of civilization and intermarriage. Thus, it is almost impossible to completely identify a single pure race in countries around the world CITATION She17 \l 1033 (Cashin, 2017). Thus, the very people who could be claiming racial superiority are likely to be mixed in their genetic history. Additionally, in the last four decades, globalization has intensified largely due to social economic, political and technological factors. The new modes of transport such as air transport which is faster than anytime before have to increase intercultural interaction which has further led to more mixed marriages and mixed offspring. Political factors such as politically driven wars have driven people from their homeplaces and settled amongst other communities which have further blurred the racial lines between such communities culturally and genetically. In the near future, as technology continually improves communication and transport, there will be more interaction between people, and it will lead to more mixed races generations. The interactions will dilute the genetic elements borne to people of common community descent, and a new universal human race will be borne.
Secondly, most people are becoming more cross-cultural. Some people now iden...
