Abstract
The focus of this research will be on finding out the reasons for an increased number of rape cases among children in different parts of Illinois (Meinck et al. 2015). The aim is to put in place some of the best and most suitable strategies in order to reduce the number of cases of child abuse, as well as reduce incidences of sexual disease transmission among young children. The research methods will include online surveys and interviews of children who have faced physical or mental abuse. For this purpose, a couple of local care providers will be involved. They will be requested to observe the behavioral changes of participants, ask questions related to the problem and provide possible solutions to the problem.
Research Problem
In Illinois, a large number of rape cases among children are reported every year. There is a strong need to address the issue as early as possible.
Background Information and Specific Aims
For nearly five years now, an increased number of cases of child abuse have been reported; most of the children complain about being sexually abused by one of the community members. It has also been found that their elder siblings, parents, friends or relatives abuse them physically or harass them sexually, making their lives miserable and challenging. Some of these assaults are present in hospitals where ill children are admitted (James & Prout, 2015). The doctor or nurse dealing with such patients assault them and cause plenty of psychological problems for the young children. This has become a significant issue in Illinois, and there is an increased demand for finding out the possible reasons and solutions to the problem. The sensible and educated community members believe that their children are not in safe hands and that the problem of child abuse or assaults needs to be solved. The government must play its role in this regard. Some of the elderly are of the view that the main cause is that children spend much time out of their homes, roaming in dark parts of Illinois at night and spending unnecessary time with unknown street friends. In this research, the focus will be on validating these arguments and finding out other possible and common causes of an increased number of cases of child abuse or rapes of children so that legal action is taken against culprits as soon as possible.
