The objective of the exhibition was mock the modern art and encourage viewers to see modern art as a sign of an evil plot against German culture. The Nazis accomplished this goal by banning modern art from the country. The modern art was a threat to the survival of the Nazi party; thus Hitler felt it was necessary to censor the art movement.
