Anthony Trucking.
Introduction
This paper analysis the Anthony Trucking company, it is the strategic business plan for the company. The paper gives an outline of the direction taken by the executive team in terms of technological, managerial and the levels of competition. The Anthony Trucking Company has its origin in 1936 when a Cleveland Native by the name K. Anthony single handedly found it with a single road tractor. The onset of the World War II in 1939 led to high demand for transportation services between various factories from the Midwest and to the ports on the East Coast.
At the end of the war, the company had increased its fleet to over fifteen tractors and 36 commercial trailers. It had forged a good business link with the United States Government. This mutual relationship had a greater boost to the resources of this company that saw it acquire all the five Eastern regional carriers.
The current economic status of the company proves its steady prowess that has transformed it to posses approximately 800 tractors, trailers 2100 and other several machines. It employs over nine hundred drivers and 400 roll on/ roll off units. It has facilities spread all over the United States Cleveland, the Los Angeles and St. Louis. The Companies expansive rolling equipment is scheduled for a preventive maintenance after every 25,000 miles. It mission and vision has propelled it to be ranked as one best freight carrier.
Technological
Antony trucking will promote the rapid development of its networked stations and reform its traditional model by embracing technology. The customer relation and the management applications systems should be improved
The company will promote its process of optimization of the organizational Structure by the application of the information technology in improving and strengthening of the organization systems to ensure effective collection, processing, and passing of information. This will stabilize the company business by reducing the logistical procedures, increase good’s movement, the capital flow, information transmission in order to achieve a very unified and highly promote the trucking business process as well as the frequent restructuring of the company ‘s organizational structure.
