The positions of a salespersons and Marketing Field Supervisor will be available for potential candidates as the company has plans to expand from in-depth services into its product sales. This is a job analysis of the two job positions that relates to the new sales workforce.
Job Analysis
Marketing Field Supervisor
The Marketing Field Supervisor will be responsible for holding the sales personnel accountable in ensuring swift alignment of the sales operations to the company’s marketing strategic goals. The supervisor is concerned with sensitizing the marketing goals of the company to the sales persons through his or her leadership skills (Lomax & Hahs-Vaughn, 2012). Ability to conduct and oversee sales meetings dedicated to discussions on issues pertaining to sales and marketing as well as issues that sales personnel encounters in delivering the company’s products to the customer.
The Marketing Field Supervisor is responsible for generating new business ideas to add to the company’s clientele. Preferred method of generating those ideas based on the company’s strategic goal is referrals of customers satisfied with the services; evaluating and listening to diverse customer needs and suggesting appropriate actions by the company; ensuring customer care and customer retention (Siddique, 2004).
Candidates for both the position of the marketing field supervisor and sales personnel will require thorough screening in order to identify the strengths of the candidates based on their past employment history. The candidates that best suit the positions would then be chosen. It is important for all candidates to be open to function in a team based environment as well as independently.
Sales Person
The sales personnel should demonstrate high ability to work under pressure as well as a desire to sell. They should possess excellent communication skills; assertive and firm approach; flexibility, and ability to deal with negative responses from clients. In addition, they should be self-motivated and possess a high degree of determination. They should be able to work both as part of a team or individually (Siddique, 2004).
Their responsibilities will include maximizing the sales of the company’s products. They will be required to ensure successful commercial achievement of the company’s strategic goals. They will be responsible for achieving positive sales results and business development by completing the following basic tasks:
* Developing and maintaining relationships with customers via one on one meetings, phone calls and emails.
* Prospecting for new business by visiting potential customers.
* Market and customer information gathering
* Having a clear understanding of customers' needs and business requirements
* Making accurate, cost calculations in within short span of time and providing the quotations to the customers (Lomax & Hahs-Vaughn, 2012).
