The work climate represents the physical and social environment, and work groups typically perform better when there is a positive work environment that can motivates them.
The workplace climate represents the prevailing attitudes that influence workplace culture, and managers can influence positive change especially if they represent positive workplace attitudes. Organizational culture is one of the elements that are difficult to change, and typically stays longer than the organizational management or even the founders. As such, leaders need to understand the workplace climate, by inspiring the employees to achieve better results (Patnaik, 2011). However, this does not mean that the managers should then use dictatorial tactics to influence workplace culture since this may affect employee satisfaction (Schein, 2010).
Managers ought to transmit the organizational culture to new employees, and in cases where organizations merge, middle managers are better placed to integrate organizational culture (Valentino & Brunelle, 2014). Managers are not only agents of change, but they must also show competent leadership especially in cases when there is transmission of culture, by highlighting on a framework to guide employees. Organizational culture influences the employees’ behavior meaning that this may help to improve the innovative capability of the workforce, especially when creativity is a highlight valued attribute in an organization ...
