Introduction
Human resource management involves the management of the workforce of an organization or human resource. This department is responsible for hiring, selection, training, evaluation and compensation of employees. In addition, it oversees the leadership of the organization and culture while at the same time ensuring that it complies with employment and labor laws. It is the work of the HRM department to act as a link between the organization and the employees in situations where employees are supposed to know something pertaining to the organization (Tyson, 2006). It should be noted clearly that human resources are the most significant assets of every organization and if they are not managed well, the business can never be successful. Human resource management can also be termed as the strategic approach to the attainment, motivation, growth and management of the human resources of the organization. It also shapes a suitable corporate culture and introduces programs which replicate and support the main values of the organization and its success. Change is inevitable and it is necessary for any business if it wants to prosper. This paper therefore seeks to understand the role of change in human resource management and the implications of it because change is not always welcomed by all and in many cases, there is resistance which must be dealt with by the human resource management department.
Role of human resource management
Human resource management concerns itself with the development and growth of individuals and the organization in which they are operating. Therefore, it is not only involved in developing and securing individual talents, but also in executing programs that improve communication and teamwork between the employees themselves so that to nurture the development of the organization. The main responsibilities that are related to human resource management are job investigation and staffing, organization and employment of work force, measurement and assessment of the performance of the workforce, implementation of compensation system for employees, specialized development of workers and work force maintenance (Tyson, 2006).

Change management is an organizational process that focuses on assisting employees acknowledge and embraces changes in their present organizational environment or business. It can also e defined as use of basic structures and tools to manage any efforts of organizational change. The main goal here is to reduce the impact of change on employees and avoid distractions.
