In chapter 3, we continue with an important concept. We're talking about psychological contracts or expectations that affect employees and motivation techniques. One important section is the one titled, Drivers of Retention. I know about high-pressure jobs as I'm confident you do as well. I understand only too well about the rewards (both psychic and financial) needed to keep me catching planes on Sundays, staying in locations opening hotels for weeks after week at a time, and putting work first before social or sometimes family obligations.
