Leaders normally spend an average of 40-50% of their working hours in meetings. I recently attended a departmental meeting as all the staffs working under sales and marketing department were expected to meet and discuss how to increase sales targets and performance. I was working as an intern for the XYZ bank, and therefore I was serving as a sales executive representative for the organization. The objective of meeting was to enable the sales and marketing department discuss their experiences, challenges, and look for way forward on how they can meet their targets. The conference room which hosted the meeting had adequate laptops, writing materials, internet connectivity and access to beverages. The meeting took place starting in the afternoon until late evening.
Generally, the meeting was conducted based on the schedule created on the agenda and clear plan. Though, the meeting started on time, it ran much longer because there were a lot of many issues that members were discussing. All items were discussed and completed. The overall climate was professional and all team members dressed in professional business attire that enabled them to feel comfort.
