Both concepts merge behind the principle ideology of enhancing policy development and service delivery to the members of the public. Governance, for instance, is charged with the responsibility of protecting the well-being of the people by ensuring that their individual rights or rather their human rights are protected from any kind of infringement. The New practice management often facilitates the upholding of such set standards by sensitizing the public on their various freedoms and rights and thus creating awareness which protects the public or an individual’s rights from being violated. However, both concepts only seem to be in tandem with only the positive outcome for the public as the only tangible similarity between them. Differences between the New Practice Management and governance revolve around the structural and functional organization of both practices in executing their respective mandates.
