THE TRAINING TRANSFER Name: Course: Professor Name: (July 10, 2012) The Training Transfer Employee training expands from training directly related to the performance of official duties to any other training that improves individuals and organizational performance and helps an agency in achieving its mission and performance goals. It`s always necessary to train employees in order to maintain a work force of skilled and efficient employees. Transfer training is performing certain activities before and after training session that enable employees to more effectively and quickly apply what they learn in their job. The goal of transfer training is to enhance the skills. knowledge and thinking of employees, in order to specify conditions that transfer training occurs and the process underlying the transfer training Baldwin & Ford, (1988) presented a simplified model that focused on two aspects of the transfer training, The two aspects are the climate for transfer of training and the transfer enhancing activities that occur during the training program. The two types of transfer climate were proposed a Dessler, (1997) antecedents such as goal cues, social cues and consequences such as positive and negative reinforcement. Dessler, (1997) noted a number of other variables in the effectiveness of the outcome of transfer training program such as trainee ability, self efficacy, previous knowledge and skills, reaction of training and the level of understanding.
