COM 362 Additional Research Social Fallacies, Girls Inc.

Essay Instructions:

Specialists in communication are often hired to clean up problems created by unthoughtful messaging. While advocates dedicate significant amounts of time and energy promoting causes, they often struggle to clearly identify their logical positions. To further the problem, in light of clear arguments advocates commonly utilize informal fallacies to persuade their target audiences. These weaknesses tend to create easily avoidable communications crises but the first step is to identify the communicative problems.
For this assignment you should identify a social issue you are personally interested in learning more about, advocating for the cause, or are against, and identify their fallacious reasoning.
In 500-750 words:
Research an advocate (individual or organization) that promotes a relevant social issue. Identify the organization and explain the relevancy of the social issue.
Show the steps you took to translate the position/argument you researched into a clear logical form by writing out the logical premises and conclusions from the material presented by the advocate.
Identify a minimum of five informal fallacies that are made by the advocate. Explain the fallacies themselves and how each functions.

Girls Inc.
The Girls Inc. is a not-for-profit institution that supports abortion, same-sex marriage, and pornography. The organization does not seem to promote fundamentalist Christian morals. It motivates all the girls to be tough, smart, and courageous.
Relevancy of Abortion
Only a small number of the United States of America citizens agree that abortion is a serious matter facing the country today. According to Lara, Holt, Pena, and Grossman (2015), a third of the public says that abortion is one of the essential issues among them, while almost half of the population asserts that the subject of abortion is not significant. Those people who are against the abortion practice, rate the issue as more important than those that are for the legal abortion (Petrakovsky, Bianchi, Fisun, Najera-Aguilar, and Pereira, 2014).
Arguments for Abortion
The Girls Inc. argues that abortion is a safe medical process. Medical abortions have a little percentage of the risk of severe complications and do not affect a lady's well-being or future capability of giving birth or becoming pregnant. In the case of rape, compelling a woman made expectant by this forceful act would cause additional emotional pain and the associated stress to the victim. Usually, a woman is too scared of speaking up or is not conscious that she is expectant, therefore, the morning after tablets are not effective in these circumstances. Pregnancy can happen even with the responsible use of contraceptives. Only a small percentage of females who have abortions do not use any method of birth control, and that is because of personal negligence rather than to the accessibility of abortion.
