Toxic leaders focus on self-growth while coercing and intimidating others in order to achieve what they desire for themselves. However, one man success is not sufficient for a company and, therefore, a toxic leader must strategize ways of dealing with the other members to enhance productivity. Some of the measures toxic leaders apply to build trust and loyalty from the subordinate members includes:
Communication- It involves speaking with influence when addressing a given challenge at work, or while directing the members on the best approach to achieve company’s objectives. Alternatively, it may involve listening to the contributions of the other members, interjecting where necessary, and framing best responses pertaining the situation (Goldman, 2009).
Leading teams- Since toxic leaders desire to remain in pole position of influence; they often hide their mediocrity by assuming leadership in most of the organizational activities. This behavior is likely to convince other members to participate actively in the development matters. A leader with accountability breeds the culture of hard work.
