These effects are frustrating both to the public and the government officials and, therefore, the disaster preparedness personnel in New York City must work on ways of reducing them.
Another natural disaster New York can face is the coastal storms and the tropical cyclones. Coastal storms can cause heavy snow, oversized waves, and rains; these can finally cause beach erosion and destruction of buildings along the coastal plain. Tropical cyclones can also cause heavy rains leading to flooding of the city and severe weather, such as tornadoes in the region. In general, hurricanes, tropical cyclones, and coastal storms result in heavy flooding in New York City.
