Guedes et al., (2010) asserts that clinical evidence needs to be examined with regard to how well specific clinical evidence represents practical applications. Particularly the authors examined how sedentary lifestyles affect hypertension. It is notable that Guedes et al., (2010) do not cite statistics to highlight how hypertension affects the current society. Moreover, the authors do not mention any morbidity, prevalence, or mortality rates resulting from hypertension. However, the study is still important to the nursing profession because it examines sedentary lifestyles and high blood pressure (HBP). Simply put, the study advocates management of sedentary lifestyles, which in turn affect high blood pressure. It follows that the publication supports management of HBP by controlling sedentary lifestyles.
