Out of ten people who have the possibility of developing diabetes, only three are aware of their condition. This is an issue that affects the vast majority of American citizens. The effect on the American population is negative. This is because many people are not aware that they are actually disposed to suffering from diabetes. Having an increase in number of people suffering from the disease means that there is whole lot of others affected. The negative effects of the current status of diabetes is that there are more people who are now diagnosed with advanced stage diabetes, making it harder to manage.
