According to Quatre (2019), Meniere's disease is a disorder that mainly affects the inner ear. Consequently, the disorder can lead to hearing loss and sometimes dizzy spells or both. The disorder is deemed chronic, but there are different treatments that can be used to aid in relieving the symptoms. Liu (2020) demonstrates that Meniere's disease is characterized by recurring episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, and aural fullness. When an individual is experiencing an attack of this disorder, additional symptoms such as feeling nauseated, dizziness, a sudden drop in hearing, and hearing ringing can be experienced. Thus, although the condition may start with one ear, it may spread to both ears over time.
