Please include the following: (Critical Thinking Skills Assignment) Identify and clarify an ethical dilemma associated with the chosen topic of your course project. Identify and discuss several alternatives and select one to address in your plan. Explain the components in your hypothetical plan for resolving the problem by implementing the solution. Present the plan in an outline and identify the roles of various participants in addressing the problem. ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS Length: This assignment should be between 1-2 pages (250-500 words) in length, excluding references. References: At least two references should be included from academic sources (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles). Organization: Subheadings should be used to organize your paper Format: APA format is recommended. While APA formatting of references is not a requirement, the references need to be presented in order using a standard citation style (APA, AMA, MLA etc). When material is copied verbatim from external sources, it MUST be enclosed in quotes. Ethics is essentially the study of practical reasoning. In the health care sector, professionals usually come across intricate ethical dilemmas at the place of work. Whilst some turn away, other professionals choose to tackle the ethical issues in a direct way. Moral courage aids people in addressing ethical issues and take action whenever it is difficult to do the right thing (Syna, 2010). The ethical dilemma associated with the topic is: Professional duty to deliver suitable medical care versus cost management. Financial pressure and limited funding at Oman Royal Hospital prevents the organization's health administrators from sticking to the ethical obligation of providing care for everyone. The problem of limited funding is steering the hospital away from treating those without health insurance, and this can affect decisions regarding organ transplant. The hospital moves patients, who can pay upfront cash, to the top of the organ transplants waiting list. For instance, in a waiting list for a kidney or liver transplant, a waiting list is kept. However, when a wealthy individual comes along and pays a substantial amount for the transplant upfront, he/she is moved up the organ transplant waiting list bypassing those who came earlier.
