The research by Ludmilla et al (2013) is a qualitative study which focused on gathering verbal data to assess how older patients view the role of family doctors in promoting health. The case study was an 80 year old patient, and the results were interpreted to be common for other elderly patients (Ludmila et al., 2013). Information collected from the interview conducted on the patients was a more explanatory research highlighting that it was indeed a qualitative research. In the study Ludmila et al (2013) are the primary data gathering instruments who rely on the interview to analyze results about perceptions about family doctors and health promotion.
Saarikoski (2013) conducted a study to assess nursing students’ perceptions about cooperation with nursing teachers in Western Europe. This was a quantitative study that relied on a survey to gather data on nursing students, with a sample of 1903 participants. In any case, the study relied on statistical analysis to explain the observations, and the research was conclusive to provide a clear picture to the researchers. The use of measurable data by the researchers allowed them to understand how nursing students interacted with nursing teachers in clinical practice. The researchers also highlighted on the use of technology to facilitate interaction in comparison to earlier times when face to face meeting was the main form of interactions.
