Public health is an approach to medicine that is comprised of well-structured and organized efforts to improve the overall health of communities (CDC, 2013). Therefore, the significance of the term public is used to show the role of public health in the well-being of the communities. Public health should fulfill the community’s interest by assuring best conditions that people can be healthy. It is therefore imperative for public health to utilize broad skills by providing an intervention between social, biological and environmental factors that are key determinants to a healthy society (CDC, 2013). In contrast, personal health is more involved in the well-being of an individual as opposed to a whole community. Notably, an individual can be residing in a healthy community and still lack a healthy well-being. The most emphasized component of personal health is physical well-being. It involves the ability of an individual to make sound decisions such as getting a healthy diet, sleep, physical exercise among others to have a healthy life.
