In discharging their duties, nurses operating within clinical facilities are often faced with various types of conflicts and stressors that threaten their performance and well being. To begin with, nurses encounter such stressor as mute patients who rarely engage in verbal talk with other people within the facility. Additionally, extended shifts and late lunches comprise another source of conflict for nurses, where they are forced to wait for several minutes or even hours as they wait to hand over to a colleague in charge of the next shift. Likewise, bed alarms which are primarily intended to alert nurses whenever a patient is out of or falls off the bed also constitute major stressors.
