For example, Delta Airline uses RFID luggage tags to know the owner's destination and the credit cards used. The National Animal Identification System uses this technology to register livestock (Weiss, 2018). However, when it comes to using information storing devices or the implantation of RFID technology into humans, numerous benefits and ethical issues arise.
The implantation of RFID technology into humans would make life more comfortable and effective. Besides, the Swedish citizens who already use these devices can unlock their car doors and turn on coffee machines by just waving their palms. The RFID chip is lodged under the skin and has a near-field communication capability (Weiss, 2018). In particular, such information storing devices can be used by doctors to monitor the health of patients with chronic diseases. For instance, physicians can check the heartbeats of people who are miles away. If the United States of America (USA) had implemented this technology in humans, it would have been easier to trace individuals with coronavirus and isolate them to prevent further spread.
