In most organizations today, there are significant changes which always take place as time lapses. This has to do with the structure in terms of complexity and staff operation. In the healthcare facility, such changes are necessary in addressing the changing trend and patterns in patients’ care and also dealing with issues which may affect the matrix of the healthcare (Harrison, 2010). A SWOT analysis reviews major changes and is paramount in dealing with any changes that may occur. It looks at the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which may be a hindrance to any organization. This paper looks deeply into such an operation by providing a diagnostic view of the importance of a SWOT within the context of healthcare.
The major step in SWOT analysis involves actual fieldwork and going out in search of useful data. This falls under external analysis since it involves finding useful data from the community. This has to do with their needs which should be addressed. Relevant information is collected about the target community, and the information is compiled internally to address the discrepancies (Harrison, 2010). The sponsors of the healthcare service are also scrutinized, and when the data is well collected, the potentialities of the venture are established.
