Economic growth is the goal of every nation. For economic development to take place, growth has to take precedence .The Gilded age can be described as the period in which the United States was experiencing economic growth. In this period, there was massive expansion in the industrial sectors of the economy like I the mining sectors, transport and even factories. At this period of time the societies were experiencing social problems, there was poverty and inequality in the society. It is in this era that there was migration from china and other states into the United States. This was because the economy of the US was growing faster and people were seeking job opportunities in the industrial sectors. There was rampant formation of the labor unions. The whole economy was expanding and growth was experienced in various sectors. In this paper I am going to explain on the Twains imagery after the civil war.
Imagery is the use of figurative language. It mainly involves the use of similes and metaphors. It is used by a writer in order to portray a picture to the reader in order to simplify his understanding. From the book Twain has made use of imagery in various instances. I consider the picture that he explains on how the economy was devastated. The laborers had to form unions and crusaded from morning till evening trying to solve their problems. I get to view the picture on how the laborers gathered together as they raised their grievances.
