In this case, lobbyists present special interests in decision-making process of the legislators as well as the executive branches of government. In many governments and political powers, lobbyist paly significant roles in politics (Bouwen, 2002). For instance, there are more than eleven thousand registered lobbyists at the federal level in United States, which shows that it is a big industry. In United States lobbyist and lobbying firms register with the secretary of the U.S, Senate and the clerk of the U.S. House of Representative within the first 45 days of making an official contact with the president, the vice president, member of the congress or any federal official (Wright, 2002).Γ‚ 
Lobbyist help new elected federal members understand how the legislative process works as most of them are former members of congress. Senate majority leader who also vied for presidency nomination Bob Dole as well as U.S, Rep. Robert Livingstone of Louisiana is some of lobbyist in American history. These people can also act under lobbying firm. Trade associations often have lobbying group that present the interest of the association to the government (Hall & Deardorff, 2006).
