Job burnout is a severe negative impact of operating in a threatening and demanding work context for extended timescales. It can also be defined as employees' reaction to work-related stress for a prolonged period. Law enforcers' work environment constantly exposes them to high levels of work-related stress (Basinska & Dåderman, 2019). A police officer operates in a highly stressful and demanding environment, mainly because of the current dynamics of contemporary societies. In the context of a police officer, these dynamics include the danger and uncertainty linked to possible terrorist attacks threat, increased gun violence within cities, low material and human resources, supervision challenges, hostility from community members, as well as lack of support from colleagues and family (Queirós et al., 2020b). In this way, burnout in police officers is vital because policing constitutes a stressful occupation that results in stress and adversely affects police officers' physical and mental health, productivity, and interactions with societal members.
