Men and women are usually represented in different ways in literature stories. The issues of feminist however, tend to appear more in vampire stories and fairy tales, although men are also featured through revelation of cultural ideas concerning masculinity. In the stories namely the "Little Red Cap," Varney and the Vampire as well as Dracula, men and women have been represented in distinct ways as they show various social values and anxieties in the nineteenth Century.
The story of the "Little Red Cap" purely indicates the way women are vulnerable and how they tend to get into the deception of men and other situations. Both the girl and grandmother find themselves in danger of being consumed by a wolf because of their trusting tendency. In this case, they are both portrayed as naïve, trusting and innocent concerning the unknown. Moreover, they have been left in a position that is compromising in the entire story of Little Red Cap, which demonstrates that women specifically ought to be on their guard concerning men as well as strangers. In addition, the women have been presented as beings that are naïve and kind-hearted. On the other hand, the men have been represented as saviors or wolves, according to the "Little Red Cap" by Grimms. In some particular versions, the role and representation of genders have been put clearly. For instance in Grimms' version, the wolf eat both the grandmother and the child without any hesitation. This illustrate the way women are likely to be taken advantage within the society in occasions where they fail to be cautious.
