The Science of Global Climate Change and Human Influences
IPPC was formed in 1988 with the aim of focusing human influences on climate, though there were no preordained conclusions. The three working groups that were created include: working group 1, which deals with physical science. This group deals with scenarios of future concentrations of greenhouse gasses and aerials. The second working group deals with impacts and adaptations through two ways, namely: sectoral approaches and regional approaches. The third working group deals with mitigation of green house gasses from entering the atmosphere.
Greenhouse gas effect entails making the atmosphere transparent to incoming solar radiations, while preventing long wave infrared radiations from entering the atmosphere. This changes that occur in the atmosphere composition, interfere with energy flow. Main components of greenhouse gasses are water vapor, carbon-dioxide, Ozone, and methane & other trace gases. In addition, clouds cause green house gasses and cooling effect as a result of reflection. There is evidence indicating that that atmosphere is changing. Such evidence includes Mauna Loa record, variations of earth surface temperature, carbon dioxide and temperature changes among others.
