Introduction
It is important for the community to live in peace and harmony for the achievement of set social goals. The cultural differences in the community require being evaluated by all to ensure that there is a fair treatment to people from a different ethnical background. Racism occurs when there is discrimination of individuals depending on their skin color which in turn reduces the self-esteem of the individual. Immigration causes interaction between individuals from different cultural backgrounds requiring the government to come up with proper policies for effective social and economic progress (Immigration Watch Canada, 2010). In Canada, there are a high number of immigrants leading to issues of racism in the nation. Racism makes a particular race to feel inferior or superior due to their treatment in the community. It is important for Canadians to work together to ensure that all cultures are respected and proper treatment of individuals regardless of their race.
